It’s been a while since I last posted something on bobo, but here I am again and it’s never to late to wish you all the best in 2016. We start the year with a great lunch address in the center of Brussels. Yeti is not the new kid on the block and is already longer known for it’s nice lunches, but since last month they drastically changed the concept. The owners of Yeti picked up the great idea to combine freshly baked Naan bread with some great toppings in Berlin and now introduced it to the Brussels audience. Naan bread is a nice oven-baked flatbread, originating from West, Central and South Asia. The guys from Yeti didn’t go over thin ice and asked Indian restaurant La Porte des Indes how to prepare this bread in a traditional round clay oven.
To be sure to have a table we booked online (we were apparently the first people who used the online booking system). We were welcomed by the friendly owner and staff and as we were three, we all chose a different topping for our naan-bread. I went for the “dating a goat” : a spread of beetroot with fresh figs, goat cheese, walnuts, rucola and mushrooms. This was really great, a great combination of flavors. But also the other two toppings we had and, obviously, shared were very tasty. The Paprika tralala with a freshly made pesto, sun dried tomato, marinated red pepper and cashew nuts was a real flavor bomb. The Artichoke my heart was more subtle in taste with a cream of artichoke, sprouts, dried chill flakes and sun dried tomatoes. This lunch is ideal to share with a bunch of friends or loved ones.
The interior of the place gives you a happy feeling and in summer you can enjoy the terrace in the small car free street. So no reason not to go try out Yeti.
